The All-Electric revolution is upon us and technicians must prepare now. The need for qualified technicians to service and maintain these vehicles is growing faster than the industry can keep up. The next five years will bring more change to the automotive technician than in the last 50 years. Don’t allow the skills gap to become too wide for you to be the technician you need to be. A technician will need to have greater electrician skills than ever before.

This course is designed to bring you up-to-date with the latest technology and information, and equip you with NEW SKILLS required for diagnosing the All-Electric vehicles.

This training course includes technical operation and diagnostic information explained in simple-to-understand terms for: The Battery Electric vehicle uses electrical energy stored in a battery pack to power an AC motor.  In between these components are complexed computer controls that control virtually everything. Even circuit protection is computer controlled.

In class, we cover:

·        Synchronous Motors

·        Power Electrons systems

·        DC to DC converters (14V)

·        High voltage battery packs

·        Electronic parking brake

·        3-Phase inverters

·        Diagnosing IGBT switching problems

·        DC to DC Buck converters (650 Volts)

·        High voltage battery thermal control system

·        Regenerative Brake system

·        Power Contactor strategy with pre-charge resistor
